Why Supervision?

To stop people (and projects!) being coming ruins*.

*the disastrous disintegration of a person's life.

☆ Less worker sick-days and turnover

☆ Support worker wellbeing

☆ Maintain appropriate standards of care

☆ Safe space to speak and assess trauma impact

☆ Reflect on impact of culture and expectations

☆ Discuss challenging situations and boundary issues

☆ Theological / Biblical reflection

☆ Protect church / project reputation

☆ Because it is too easy not to!

Why someone external?

Often those within the organisation are part of the challenge and culture, and discussions become more line management focussed, and it becomes harder to say what needs to be said. Most workers say that internally no one ever seems to have the time to prioritise supervision.

Good supervision should reduce the risk of people and projects 'toppling over'!
